Today, President Donald Trump tweeted out support for Attorney General Bill Schuette and his campaign for Governor.

@realDonaldTrump: "Attorney General Bill Schuette will be a fantastic Governor for the great State of Michigan. I am bringing back your jobs and Bill will help"

Schuette announced his candidacy on Tuesday, and the President’s support could be influential so early in the campaign.

Bill Schuette endorsed his personal friend Jeb Bush in the 2016 Presidential primary, but went on to support Trump in the general election. He addressed the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, and appeared throughout the fall at various Trump events. Schuette even spoke in Grand Rapids at Trump’s final rally before the general election.

UPDATE:¬†Originally, Trump misspelled Schuette as “Shuette” in his tweet on Saturday at 6:59 pm. On Sunday at 7:49 am, he deleted the original tweet and rewrote the tweet with the correct spelling.
